Fancy a little trip across the pond with me? To Brisbane, Australia? If you know me you will know that I get to spend half the year in Australia and even though I am now back in London, I still have a few weddings to share with you that I shot while I was there. One of these is the wedding of Ciara and Drew who you may remember from their shoot at Brisbane’s Powerhouse here.
Ciara and Drew were married on a glorious April day. We had a fair bit of rain in Australia over the summer and luckily the sun it chose their wedding day to stay out and keep everything dry. Ciara and Drew wanted a day that reflected their fun loving attitudes and love of colour. Brilliant polka and damask prints ran through the day with pops of reds and purples, like Ciara’s stunning red shoes and the awesome Vivien of Holloway polkadot bridesmaids dresses which, along with Ciara’s tea length dress gave the day a retro feel that was just gorgeous and bursting with sunshine.
Their wedding was very much a family affair with guests flying in from various parts of the world. Their heart felt ceremony was held in the cute and cosy St Stephen’s Chapel in the city and we took a wander through the City Botanic gardens nearby for photos and a bit of fresh air and nature. Their candlelit reception at The Port Office was warm and cosy and their beautiful speeches ensured many teary eyes, which turned to laughter as guests partied into the night to some good old retro tunes.
Ciara and Drew thank you so much for allowing Robin and I to be a part of your amazing day, we had so much fun with you both!
A big thanks to my gorgeous friend Robin of Foster Photography who joined me on the day, to capture Drew with his family at breakfast and as he got ready. You are amazing lovely! Also to the lovely Bec and Chrissy of Weddingesque who helped Ciara and Drew create the day they imagined that ran seamlessly and perfectly. You two were ace!
