Evie & Rich – A London Wedding

Laughter. And a lot of it. That’s what I think of most when I think back to Evie and Rich’s wedding. It was a huge amount of fun! I love London weddings and this is everything ‘London’ should be. Canals, cosy pubs, dogs in pubs, beautiful old buildings, black cabs, doilies on tables, colour and a North / South divide. The first time we met up , Evie ventured South across the river – a rarity!

Evie and Rich were the very last UK wedding I shot last year before heading to Australia… and it was like going out with a bang! Meeting Evie and Rich I knew I had new friends I would want to see again and again and I could not wait for their wedding.

The day started with Evie getting ready surrounded by her Mum and best friends. There was a bit of worry in the air when I first arrived and our bride to be had spent the night in A&E having somehow had nuts in a cocktail (!?) the night before. Severely allergic she had been rushed off to hospital and thankfully recovered well, but with a slight swelling still across her eyes that the poor thing was worried would not go down. But down it went and she looked divine.

A ceremony at Islington Town Hall (one of my favourites in the city) was followed by a walk along the canal and we were joined by the couples gorgeous dog, Betty. Hands down the best name for a dog ever. Betty was obliging and she sat for photos … when she wasn’t desperate for a cuddle on Evie or Rich’s lap!

The evening reception was held at The Albion in Islington and it was brilliant. Speeches took place standing behind the bar (love it!) and a photo booth kept the guests entertained for most of the evening. The whole day was a reflection on their personalities, friendships, families and fab social life. From the  flowers that they did themselves and the collected doilies on the table, the Victoria Sponge cake, amazing British foods and a hugely cosy pub where the drinks flowed. It was London at its best and it was perfect for this amazing couple.

Big hugs to you both Evie and Rich, I am so looking forward to a catch up soon… I am living north of the river now too!  Oh, and I am bringing my sisters pooch for a pamper in a few weeks. (For those of you out there who love and have a dog, Evie has just started her own dog grooming business Hackney Hounds … check her out!)

Sao Paolo, Brazil

Holga and I took a little wander with friends through São Paulo, Brazil. Apparently the worlds 7th largest city (depending on which site you read). As a foreigner, I’ve never felt so invisible.
