Alexis & James – A london wedding

Happy Friday world! The wedding I want to share with you today is filled with sunshine-like colour and fond memories!

The lovely Alexis and James were married in London late last year and their gorgeous day oozed personal touches, always with family and friends in mind. From a canal boat filled to the brim with homemade cakes to a bridesmaid dress brought at a market in Uganda. From the hand crafted bees for the cake that Alexis made herself, to the home made decorations and flowers.. every single element was personal and full of thought.

On the morning of their wedding, Alexis got ready at her flat in North London with her family. She chose a beautiful Vivienne Westwood dress to wear on her day and I cannot have imagined anything more perfect for her. Oh and how I loved Alexis’s shoes! She chose a fabulous pair of Alexander McQueens and a second pair of ever so slightly lower (but-not-by-much) shoes for all the walking they  had planned for the day!

James spent the morning of the wedding getting the last bits ready, from co-ordinating the flowers for the boys to making sure the canal boat was decorated and ready for their guests. Once all was finished and the boys dressed, the eco conscious groom jumped on a ‘Boris’ (Barclays) bikes and pedalled through the city over to Old Marylebone Town Hall to wait for Alexis.

Their ceremony was charming, funny and extremely personal. After a quick confetti throw and a group shot on the steps, we wandered through the streets of London following a trail of orange balloons to Regents Park where bird seed was given out to all to feed the swans and ducks. Guests were able to stop to have a chat and a break from the walk and then meander the rest of the way to Regents Park Roadbridge where the canal boat,  My Fair Lady (who was laden with home made cakes, tea and locally sourced fizz) was waiting. The boat puttered along Regents Canal as the sun set over London before finally arriving at Caledonian Road Bridge. From there it was a walk through the streets of Islington to The Compass where speeches, a delicious dinner and a party carried on into the night.

Alexis and James, you had the most perfect wedding. Your whole day was a perfect reflection of yourselves as individuals, as a couple and as a family and group of friends and you created a day that held true to your values and cared for the people you love, making it a truly memorable and special day for all. From the moment I met you both at the Round House Cafe I just adored you and want to thank you both so much for allowing me to be a part of such a special day xx
